Lucas Damiani Armand Ugon is a
Uruguayan-born artist based in Berlin and Lisbon, working in the intersections of Visual and Performing Arts, with specific background studies in Photography, Psychology and Contemporary Dance.

Lucas (he/him, they/them) was born and raised by the sea in Montevideo, Uruguay. After studying Psychology there at Universidad de la República, they moved to Madrid after being awarded the Prize & Scholarship "Lanzadera de Fotógrafos" of TMF to study Fine Art Photography. He has participated in solo and group exhibitions in Uruguay, Italy, Peru and Spain, receiving the BFOTO Emergentes prize for exhibiting the project RECICLARIO, created in collaboration with artist Sara Coelho Galán.

His dance background begins with somatics and CI, as well as contemporary dance training frequently focusing in improvisation and composition, with Gianni Penna (UY), Lucas Condró (AR), Mónica Valenciano (SP). In Berlin he has trained with Maria Colusi (AR) from Sasha Waltz & Guests, as well as Judith Sánchez Ruiz (CU), Julyen Hamilton (UK) and Maya M. Carroll (IL). They completed SNDO Intensive (Amsterdam, 2018) as well as Tanzfabrik Berlin's 1-year training program TanzIntensive (2019-2020), and recently participated in Teatro Nacional Dona Maria II’s NORMA (Lisbon, 2023), a space of formation and discussion around accessibility and inclusion in the context of Performing Arts, guided by Diana Niepce (PT) with assistance of André Uerba (PT/DE). They completed PACAP5 (Forum Dança, Lisbon) curated by João Fiadeiro in collaboration with Márcia Lança, Carolina Campos & Daniel Pizamiglio, focusing in the study- practice of Real-Time Composition and in (collaborative) creative processes, working with guests such as Lisa Nelson (US), Mette Edvardsen (NO), Emma Bigé (FR), Leticia Skrycky (UY), among others, and participating in the creations of Nicole Gomes (BR), Nazario Díaz (SP), and Bruno Levorin (BR).

They also recently completed PACAP6, curated by Sofia Dias & Vitor Roriz, having an initial stage of creation of the project "HYDRA", with a first public opening in Teatro do Bairro Alto, Lisbon, in July 2023. HYDRA was further supported by the Porto Design Biennale 2023 “Being Water” as one of the selected “Satellite Activities”, and by RESIDENCIAS PARAÍSO 2024.

Lucas has worked with Guillermo Weickert - "Tocar Con-Mover" (SURGE Madrid 2019), Lee Mingwei - "Our Labyrinth" (Martin-Gropius-Bau, Berlin 2020), Marcelo Evelin - “Barricada” & “Batucada” (Transborda, Almada 2022 & 2023), Sofia Dias & Vítor Roriz - “Uma partícula mais pequena do que um grão de pó” (O Espaço do Tempo, Montemor-O-Novo, 2023), and João Fiadeiro - “INTROSPECTIVA” (MAC/CCB), among others. Lucas is also part of Proyecto SISMOS, a research and creation collective of 8 South American artists supported by IBERESCENA, recently premiering “Territmia” (2025) in Centro NAVE, Chile, within the frame of Santiago OFF International Festival.

In their work, Lucas investigates in the possible cross-pollinations between visual and performing arts; and explores intimacy, transformation, touch, encounter and subjective processes such as identity and desire in diverse formats.
